Peters & Peters represented the former Business Director of Innospec. Following an SFO investigation, the company pleaded guilty to bribery which took place in Indonesia and Iran, and was sentenced in the UK and US. Our client also entered a guilty plea and cooperated with authorities on both sides of the Atlantic. His involvement raised a number of complex and sensitive issues, including the interaction of the criminal case with US and UK civil suits concerning hundreds of millions of dollars. Unlike his co-defendants prosecuted by the SFO, the client avoided imprisonment and confiscation proceedings as a result of his cooperation.
