Danish prosecutors mull further prosecutions in the Cum-Ex tax scandal – Jasvinder Nakhwal discusses implications of further charges

The Danish prosecutors who charged Sanjay Shah for his role in a $1.6 billion tax fraud probe will be deciding by March whether to press charges against other suspects. Extradition expert and co-author of Peters & Peters’ newly launched Extradition UK site Jasvinder Nakhwal says “efforts by national authorities to track down suspects are likely to lead traders involved in similar strategies to consider their options. That includes contacting prosecutors, since once authorities move ahead with charges, the scope for striking a deal shrinks. I could see this expanding into a much larger, more global investigation.” She adds ,“the alleged loss is being pitched very high so there’s probably scope for that to happen.” Read more
