P&P now a proud member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance and signatory of the Legal Renewables Initiative
We are very pleased to announce that Peters & Peters is now a proud member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance (LSA) – the leading sustainability network for law firms and the UK Legal sector.
Our membership allows us to collaborate and share best practice with other member firms, taking positive steps to improve the environmental sustainability of our operations and to measure, manage and reduce our carbon emissions.
We’re also now a signatory of the Legal Renewals Initiative, which is inspired by and modelled in part upon the global corporate renewable initiative, RE100. Our signatory is a public commitment to:
Using 100% renewable electricity to supply our office space by 2025
We are proud to say that 100% of our office space electricity is sourced from highly rated renewable energy provider Good Energy. In addition to this, our shared building space boasts:
A high EPC building energy efficiency rating of B-49 and ISO14001 certification.
- An ‘ex-or’ digital lighting system, saving on average 30-35% on lighting energy consumption.
- High speed electric vehicle charging points.
- Signatory of the City of London Clean Streets Partnership on environmental compliance.
- A zero to landfill policy (recycling on average 70-80% of the building’s waste with the shortfall used to produce energy) and annual environmental audits.
Sharing green energy ideas with employees to encourage shifting attitudes at home as well as at work
Our environmental employee network, the ‘Green Team’, actively promotes environmental consciousness, encouraging sustainable habits and behaviors and sharing helpful resources. We also share volunteering opportunities where possible, such as beach cleans.
Energy saving and reduced consumption in the workplace to help drive down carbon and climate impacts (such as our flights carbon offsetting)
We continue to find ways to reduce our energy consumption, an example of which being the installation of a more energy efficient lighting system in 2019. We also off-set our carbon emissions on all non-client funded flights. We are proud to work with Clear, (approved by the Quality Assurance Standard) by offsetting our air miles to invest in carbon-reduction projects and taking responsibility for our footprint.
