Nick spoke about how he ended up following his mum’s and future wife’s advice to pursue a career as a barrister, how things progressed from there and why he does not believe in planning his career too much.
After leaving the bar, Nick was a Customs prosecutor, liaison prosecutor in Washington DC and went on a secondment to the Home Office to be the head of the UK Central Authority. Nick then joined the Crown Prosecution Service, where he was the first Head of Extradition before becoming its Head of Special Crime. Eventually, one day, a well-timed email from Peters & Peters landed in Nick’s mailbox, prompting him to get in touch. A lot of discussions and interviews later, Nick joined the firm.
Nick also spoke about aspects of his career that he has particularly enjoyed and work highlights, including prosecuting high-profile cases and investigations, or being called a ‘Tory stooge’ in a minor Twitter storm.
