Monday 29 April, 2024
The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has launched a review of its cases after discovering issues with software used in evidence disclosure.
According to the Financial Times, the agency has told the defendants in all affected cases about the issues, which affected its ability to search for relevant terms of evidence. It added that a solution to the problem has been found.
“The prosecution’s compliance with its duty of disclosure is a fundamental part of the right to a fair trial. It is of critical importance that the means used to interrogate electronic material is properly understood by the prosecution.”
