Hannah Knight
Hannah joined the Fraud & Commercial Disputes team at Peters & Peters in October 2022. She specialises in complex and international commercial disputes, which often involve elements of civil fraud.
Hannah’s experience covers a broad range of practice areas. She is often instructed in high-value, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes, and works alongside the Business Crime team in cases raising issues of both civil and criminal law.
Hannah works on matters at all stages, from pre-action through to settlement or trial. She has been instructed to seek interim remedies, including freezing orders in the High Court, to defend clients on summary judgment applications, to represent clients in mediations and at CMCs, and has issued various applications in the High Court.
Prior to joining the firm, Hannah worked as a self-employed Barrister at 3 Verulam Buildings for five years, where her practice focussed mainly on commercial and financial disputes. She has also gained experience in international construction disputes and arbitration, after working for a year as a Legal Assistant at Keating Chambers.
Hannah studied law at University College London and graduated in 2013 with a first-class honours’ degree. She was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2014 and completed her pupillage at 3 Verulam Buildings.
Case examples
Acted for an estate administrator in High Court proceedings relating to the enforcement of arbitration funding arrangements. Also acted in concurrent proceedings in which the enforceability of conditional fee agreements was disputed.
Acted for high net worth clients, and the protector of family trusts, in a potential £20 million fraud and asset-tracing claim.
Advised high net worth clients on potential international fraud and bribery actions arising out of multi-party international shareholder disputes.
